Myxedema can also occur in the lower leg ([[pretibial myxedema]]) and behind the eyes ([[exophthalmos]]).{{cn|date=December 2024}}

Severe cases, requiring hospitalization can exhibit signs of hypothermia, hypoglycemia, hypotension, respiratory depression, and coma.{{cn|date=December 2024}}
