== Origins == In the [[Catholic Church]], the personal prelature was conceived during the sessions of the [[Second Vatican Council]] in no. 10 of the decree ''Presbyterorum ordinis'' and was later enacted into law by [[Paul VI]] in his ''[[motu proprio]]'' ''Ecclesiae sanctae''.
