Nonetheless, ''Projects in the Jungle'' was "a major improvement over the band's tentative performance on debut album ''[[Metal Magic]]'', and its much improved production clarity and musicianship spoke volumes of Pantera's growing professionalism and maturity."<ref name="AllMusic" />
