==Description== [[File:Anoplopoma fimbria.png|left|thumb|Illustration]] The sablefish is a species of deep-sea fish common to the North Pacific Ocean.<ref>{{ITIS |id=167123 |taxon=Anoplopoma fimbria |accessdate=24 January 2006}}</ref> Adult sablefish are opportunistic piscivores, preying on [[Alaskan pollock]], [[eulachon]], [[capelin]], [[herring]], [[sandlance]], and [[Pacific cod]], as well as [[squid]], [[krill|euphausiids]], and [[jellyfish]].<ref>{{cite tech report|author=Yang, M-S |author2= M.
