==Early life and education == Farr was born in San Francisco, the son of Janet Emerson (nΓ©e Haskins) and [[Fred Farr|Frederick Sharon "Fred" Farr]]. One of his maternal great-grandfathers was acting mayor of Los Angeles [[William Hartshorn Bonsall]], and one of his paternal great-great-grandfathers was the brother of Nevada Senator [[William Sharon]].<ref>http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~battle/reps/farr.htm {{User-generated source|certain=yes|date=June 2022}}</ref> He grew up in [[Carmel-by-the-Sea, California|Carmel]], where he still lives.
