==Early life==
Sergey Akhromeyev was born on 5 May in 1923 in [[Vindrey]], a village in the [[Tambov Governorate]] of the [[Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic|Russian SFSR]] (now [[Mordovia]]), in a family of [[Russians|Russian]]<ref>[http://www.warheroes.ru/hero/hero.asp?Hero_id=1029 Герои Страны]</ref> ethnicity. His father fell under dispossession and died in the late 1940s in [[Central Asia]].
