==Early life and education== Hart was born on October 27, 1946, in [[Pittsburgh]], [[Pennsylvania]]. He graduated from [[Mt. Lebanon School District#Mt. Lebanon High School|Mt. Lebanon High School]] in [[Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania]], in 1964. He received a [[Bachelor of Science]] degree in [[mechanical engineering]] from [[Lehigh University]] in 1968, a [[Master of Science]] degree in mechanical engineering from the [[Massachusetts Institute of Technology]] in 1969, and a Master of Science degree in [[electrical engineer]]ing from [[Rutgers University]] in 1978.<ref name="bionasa">{{cite web|url=https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/atoms/files/hart_terry.pdf |title=Terry J.
