==Early life==
Leon was born and raised in [[Durban]]<ref>{{Cite news|url=http://www.sahistory.org.za/people/anthony-james-tony-leon|title=Anthony James (Tony) Leon|last=sahoboss|date=2011-02-17|work=South African History Online|access-date=2018-10-19|language=en}}</ref> during the [[apartheid]] era. He was educated at [[Clifton School (Durban)]] and [[Kearsney College]] near Durban.
