The population of Colombo is a mix of numerous ethnic groups, mainly  [[Sinhalese people|Sinhalese]], [[Sri Lankan Moor]] and [[Sri Lankan Tamils]], . There are also small communities of people with [[Chinese people in Sri Lanka|Chinese]], [[Portuguese Burghers|Portuguese Burgher]], [[Dutch Burghers|Dutch Burgher]], [[Sri Lankan Malays|Malay]] and [[Indians in Sri Lanka|Indian]] origins living in the city, as well as numerous European expatriates.
