== Transport == === Motorway === Gort is accessible from the [[M18 motorway (Ireland)|M18 motorway]] from Shannon to Galway, at Junction 16. The M18 ends at junction 18 of the [[M6 motorway (Ireland)|M6 motorway]]. The road continues northbound as the [[M17 motorway (Ireland)|M17]] towards [[Tuam]] and [[Sligo]]. The segment from Ennis to Gort of the M18 motorway bypass of the town was officially opened on 12 November 2010.
