===Family and relationships=== [[File:Martin Short 2021 2.jpg|thumb|right|180px|Short in 2021]] Short met Canadian comic actress [[Nancy Dolman]] in 1972 during the run of ''[[Godspell]]''. The couple married in 1980. Dolman retired from show business in 1985 to be a [[stay-at-home mother]] and raise their family.
