In the [[2024 European Parliament election in Greece|2024 European Parliament election]], even though the party managed to come first in [[Lasithi]] and [[Heraklion (regional unit)|Heraklion]], PASOK eventually came in third place, recording a 12,79% vote share. The failure to capitalize on SYRIZA's further decline led a number of MPs and elected officials, including [[Haris Doukas]] and [[Pavlos Geroulanos]] to call for an election to replace [[Nikos Androulakis]] as party leader.
