''[[Pestalotiopsis|Pestalotiopsis pini]]'' (a species of [[ascomycete]] fungi), was found as an emerging pathogen on ''[[Pinus pinea]]'' {{Au|L.}} (Stone pine) and also on ''Pinus pinaster'' in Portugal. Evidence of shoot blight and stem necrosis were found in 2020.
