This is a consequence of the identity theorem, stating that equations between holomorphic functions valid on a real interval, hold everywhere. In particular, the recurrence relation <ref name="auto2"/> and {{math|1=''βΞ³''(''s'', ''z'')/''βz'' = ''z''<sup>''s''β1</sup> ''e''<sup>β''z''</sup>}} <ref name="auto2"/> are preserved on corresponding branches.
