== Politics == Mayors from [[Bulgarian Socialist Party]] have been in charge of Sliven Municipality in the period 1990–1991, 1999–2003 and 2011–2015. For his second term (2007–2011), Yordan Letchkov was nominated by [[GERB]]. Since 2015, Stefan Radev is the mayor of Sliven Municipality. In the local elections in [[2015 Bulgarian local elections|2011]] and [[2019 Bulgarian local elections|2019]], he was nominated by GERB (he won in 2019). Hristin Petkov was mayor of the SDS from 1991 to 1995.
