External condoms have a tight ring to form a seal around the penis, while internal condoms usually have a large stiff ring to prevent them from slipping into the [[body orifice]]. The Female Health Company produced an internal condom that was initially made of polyurethane, but newer versions are made of [[nitrile rubber]].
