== Titles == Throughout his lifetime, Narseh is known to have had several titles, attested in contemporary chronicles, four inscriptions ([[Shapur I's inscription at the Ka'ba-ye Zartosht|艩KZ]], NV艩, NPi, 艩峁珺n-I) and his coins.{{sfn|Weber|2016}} * As governor of Hind, Sakastan and Turan; ''膿r mazd膿sn Narseh, 拧膩h Hind, Sagest膩n ud Turest膩n t膩 dray膩 damb'' ("the Iranian, Mazda-worshipping Narseh, king of Hind(estan), Sagestan and Turan up to the seacoast").{{sfn|Weber|2016}} * As governor of Armenia: ''拧膩h Armen膩n'' ("King of Armenia").{{sfn|Weber|2016}} * During his rule as king of Iran, he assumed the titles of his predecessors: ptkly ZNH mzdysn bgy nls岣 MLK示n MLK示 示yr示n W 示nyr示n MNW ctry MN yzd示n, "This (is) the image of the Mazda-worshipping god Narseh, king of kings of Eran and Aneran, whose seed (is) from the gods" in the inscription of his brother, Bahram I, which he had altered.{{sfn|Weber|2016}} * The title of ''Narseh 墨 Abz奴dxwarrah'' ("Narseh, whose [[xwarrah]] blossoms"), which Narseh had most likely received by his supporters at the gathering at Paikuli.{{sfn|Weber|2016}}
