After his death, Phibun's ashes were transferred to Thailand in an [[urn]] and decorated with [[military honours]] in Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (also called "The Temple of Democracy") he had founded in [[Bang Khen]].{{citation needed|date=August 2024}}
