=== Infections === Urbanization has also been linked to the spread of communicable diseases, which can spread more rapidly in the favourable environment with more people living in a smaller area. Such diseases can be respiratory infections and gastrointestinal infections. Other infections could be infections, which need a vector to spread to humans. An example of this could be dengue fever.<ref>{{Cite journal |last=Neiderud |first=Carl-Johan |date=January 2015 |title=How urbanization affects the epidemiology of emerging infectious diseases |journal=Infection Ecology & Epidemiology |language=en |volume=5 |issue=1 |pages=27060 |doi=10.3402/iee.v5.27060 |issn=2000-8686 |pmc=4481042 |pmid=26112265|bibcode=2015InfEE...527060N }}</ref>
