Disk tools included with this release are not compatible with [[FAT32]]. The Windows version of Speed Disk works with much greater speed than Microsoft's supplied defrag program, as it moved groups of clusters, not single clusters as Microsoft's [[Windows Disk Defragmenter]]. Changes in the way Windows operates meant that many of the old utilities were either dropped completely or replaced with GUI based versions. However, with the advent of Windows XP onwards, Norton's Speed Disk reverted to single-cluster defragmentation.{{Citation needed|date=March 2009}} ===Version 2.0 for Windows 95=== Version 2.0 was announced on 7 October 1996.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961007_01 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121002144323/http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961007_01 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2 October 2012 |title=Newsroom |work=Symantec}}</ref> Version 2.0 features Norton CrashGuard with Anti-Freeze, Norton System Genie, Norton AntiVirus, LiveUpdate, System Genie, Registry Editor, System Doctor, System Benchmark, Disk Benchmark, Multimedia Benchmark, Speed Disk, Space Wizard.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961029_02 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121002144328/http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961029_02 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2 October 2012 |title=Newsroom |work=Symantec}}</ref> Disk utilities now support FAT32.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/19971010135929/http://fsc.fsonline.com/fsj/archive/021597wilcox.html New and Newer]</ref> A LiveUpdate fix was released for Norton Utilities 2.0 for Windows 95.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19970409_01 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121002144427/http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19970409_01 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2 October 2012 |title=Newsroom |work=Symantec}}</ref> ===Version 2.0 for Windows NT 4.0=== Originally called Norton Utilities 2.0 for Windows NT during prerelease,<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961217_01 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121002144606/http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19961217_01 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2 October 2012 |title=Newsroom |work=Symantec}}</ref> it was announced on 27 January 1997.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19970127_02 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121002144623/http://www.symantec.com/about/news/release/article.jsp?prid=19970127_02 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2 October 2012 |title=Newsroom |work=Symantec}}</ref> It includes Norton Disk Doctor, Norton Speed Disk, Norton System Information, Norton System Doctor, Norton Protection/UnErase, Live Update.
