===Mizrachi and Romaniote traditions===

In the [[Mizrahi Jews|Mizrachi]] and [[Romaniote Jews|Romaniote traditions]], the Torah scroll is generally not robed in a mantle, but rather housed in an ornamental wooden case which protects the scroll, called a "tik", plural ''tikim''.
