From the 1950s through the 1970s, each GM division had its own V8 engine family. Today, there are only two families of V8 engines in production for road vehicles: the [[General Motors LS-based small-block engine|Generation V small-block]] and its [[Chevrolet Gemini small-block engine|Gemini small-block]] derivative.
