===Rescheduled tour, Direction of the Heart and New Gold Dream β Live From Paisley Abbey (2022β2023)=== The cancelled world tour was rescheduled to 2022 with over 80 dates across more than 20 countries in spring/summer 2022. On 17 January 2022, Simple Minds released the single "Act of Love" to mark the anniversary of the band's first performance on 17 January 1978 at Glasgow's Satellite City. Kerr and other band members still enjoyed the demo recording so much that they vowed to officially release an alternate version eventually. On 21 October 2022 the band released their studio album Direction of the Heart via BMG.
