====Child protection==== In April 2008, Vitter introduced an amendment to continue funding the [[Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act]] which was excluded from the 2008/2009 budget. The federal program maintains a national [[Sex offender registries in the United States|sex offender registry]], provides resources for tracking down unregistered [[sex offender]]s and increases penalties for the [[sexual assault]] of children.
