The ''D&D'' 4th edition ''Monster Manual'' was released with the other core books on June 6, 2008.  It featured the demon prince [[Orcus (Dungeons & Dragons)|Orcus]] on the cover. The book was designed by [[Mike Mearls]], [[Stephen Schubert]], and [[James Wyatt (game designer)|James Wyatt]].

''[[Monster Manual 2]]'' was released on May 20, 2009 with [[Demogorgon (Dungeons & Dragons)|Demogorgon]] on the cover; ''Monster Manual 3'' was released on June 15, 2010 featuring [[Lolth]] on its cover.
