===2020=== From 1 April 2020, all Class 4 vehicle MOT expiry dates were extended by six months if the date fell on or after 30 March 2020. This was implemented due to the coronavirus outbreak across the UK.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-mots-for-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-due-from-30-march-2020|title= Coronavirus: MOTs due from 30 March 2020|access-date=1 April 2020}}</ref> Although the six-month exemption was granted, vehicles that were still being used were required to be kept in a roadworthy condition, and penalties were still issued for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.<ref>{{Cite web|date=2020-06-23|title=Coronavirus COVID-19 Lockdown and MOTs|url=https://www.mrclutch.com/blog/covid-19-lockdown-and-mots/|access-date=2021-02-19|website=Mr Clutch|language=en-GB}}</ref>
