The Jets and the [[Buffalo Bills|Bills]] represent the same state (although the Jets play in New Jersey), and this rivalry represents the differences between [[New York City]] and [[Upstate New York]]. The teams are both charter members of the American Football League and have generally stayed in the same division since, even after the NFL and AFL merged.
