===Africa=== The [[Maasai people|Maasai ethnic group]] conduct traditional burning in [[Savanna|savanna ecosystems]] before the [[Wet season|rainy season]] to provide varied [[grazing]] land for livestock and to prevent larger fires when the grass is drier and the weather is hotter.
