===Series 2004–present (color notes)=== Beginning in 2003, the Federal Reserve introduced a new series of bills, featuring images of national symbols of freedom. The new $20 bill was first issued on October 9, 2003; the new $50 on September 28, 2004; the new $10 bill on March 2, 2006; the new $5 bill on March 13, 2008; the new $100 bill on October 8, 2013. The one and two dollar bills still remain small portrait, unchanged, and not watermarked. {| class="wikitable" style="font-size:90%" |+ Post-2004 redesigned series |- ! colspan="10"| Color series |- ! colspan="2" | Images ! rowspan="2"| Value !!rowspan="2"| Background<br />color !!rowspan="2"|Fluorescent<br />strip color !!colspan="3"| Description !! rowspan="2" | First series ! rowspan="2" |Date first issued |- !
