In addition to the longer stroke, it used higher-flow cylinder heads utilizing narrower {{cvt|7|mm|in}} valve stems. Crankshaft counterbalance weights were increased in count from 4 to 8. Output was {{cvt|119|hp|kW|0}} and {{cvt|202|Nm|lbft|0}}. It was replaced in 2001 by the Mazda-derived [[Ford Duratec engine#Duratec 23|Duratec 23]], but Ford Power Products continues to sell this engine as the '''LRG-425'''.
