====Bring your own encryption / key==== {{main|Bring your own encryption}} ''Bring your own encryption'' (BYOE)—also called ''bring your own key'' (BYOK)—refers to a cloud-computing security model to allow public-cloud customers to use their own encryption software and manage their own encryption keys. This security model is usually considered a marketing stunt, as critical keys are being handed over to third parties (cloud providers) and key owners are still left with the operational burden of generating, rotating and sharing their keys.
