===Numerals=== {{Main|Babylonian cuneiform numerals}} The Sumerians used a [[Sexagesimal#Babylonian mathematics|base-60]] numerical system. A number, such as "70", would be represented with the digit for "60" (πΉ) and the digit for "10" (π): πΉπ. It's important to mention that the number for "60" is the same as the number for "1";<ref name=":12" /> the reason this number isn't read as "11" is because of the order of the numbers: 60 then 10, not 10 then 60.
