Both teams needed a victory to keep their playoffs hope alive and there was significant trash talk between Rex Ryan and his players and many of the Giants in the weeks leading up to the game. The teams met again in 2019, with the Jets taking the win 34β27. On October 29, 2023, the Jets won 13β10 in overtime as the visitors.
