==Peacekeeping operations== The Peruvian Navy has been actively involved in several [[peacekeeping|United Nations Peacekeeping Operations]]. Peruvian naval officers have also been deployed to [[United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo]] (MONUC), [[UNOCI|United Nations Operation in CΓ΄te d'Ivoire (UNOCI)]], [[United Nations Mission in Sudan]] (UNMIS) as [[UNMO|United Nations Militar Observers (UNMOs)]]. By 2012 the Peruvian Navy sent its first officer to serve in [[UNISFA|United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei]].
