===Congress=== He was elected to the [[U.S. House of Representatives]] in 1960, defeating six-term Democratic incumbent [[Roy Wier]], and served in the [[87th United States Congress|87th]], [[88th United States Congress|88th]], [[89th United States Congress|89th]], [[90th United States Congress|90th]], and [[91st United States Congress|91st congresses]], January 3, 1961 β January 3, 1971.
