==College career== Maynard played [[college football|collegiately]] for [[Rice University]] (one year), then for Texas Western College (now the [[University of Texas at El Paso]]). In three seasons (1954β56) with the [[UTEP Miners football|Miners]], he caught only 28 passes but averaged 27.6 yards per reception and recorded 10 [[touchdown]]s.
