It is found in a number of African countries, including [[Benin]], [[Burkina Faso]], [[Côte d’Ivoire]], [[Gambia]], [[Ghana]], [[Guinea]], [[Guinea-Bissau]], [[Togo]], [[Liberia]], [[Mali]], [[Nigeria]], [[Senegal]], [[Sierra Leone]] and [[Cameroon]].<ref name="ARKive"/> This species inhabits both [[tropical forest]] and open savannas.
