The show's producers were resistant to [[stunt casting]]. Several of the screenwriters appeared on the show. [[Mike White (filmmaker)|Mike White]] played Kim Kelly's oft-discussed injured brother, and first appeared in episode 4, "Kim Kelly is My Friend".
