==Business career== Metzenbaum became independently wealthy through investments, particularly in real estate near what became the [[Cleveland Hopkins International Airport]], which Metzenbaum and his partner, [[Alva "Ted" Bonda]], correctly envisioned would make for extremely profitable, 24-hour, well-lit parking lots.
