==Terminology== In many countries, the word "passport" is only used in modern language to denote a document issued for the purpose of international travel, which is subject to discretionary permission. However, in some post-Soviet countries, the word "passport" is implied to merely mean a primary identification document, especially if has the form of a booklet. Nevertheless, it is also extended by analogy to other forms of identification documents. For example, [[Ukrainian identity card]]s that are replacing old-fashioned internal passport booklets are still called ะฟะฐัะฟะพัั (''pasport'', "passport").<ref>{{Cite web |url=https://pk-ukraina.gov.ua/en/products/id-documents/nid-eng |title=ID card of the citizen of Ukraine |access-date=2018-07-02 |archive-date=2018-07-03 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180703021823/https://pk-ukraina.gov.ua/en/products/id-documents/nid-eng |url-status=dead }}</ref>
