In North Korea, the body of the late leader [[Kim Jong Il]] was embalmed and displayed in a glass coffin surrounded with red flowers at the [[Kumsusan Palace of the Sun]] in [[Pyongyang]] prior to his funeral, which began and ended at the palace. An honour guard armed with AK-47s was present.
