==Names==
Mount Conner was named after [[M. L. Conner]] by explorer [[William Gosse (explorer)|William Gosse]] in 1873. Its Aboriginal name is "Artilla" or "Attila", believed to be associated with the "terrible ice-man" story.<ref name="NT-placenames"/>
