== Mission and scope ==

Quackwatch describes its [[Mission statement|mission]] as follows:

Quackwatch has no salaried employees, and the total cost of operating all Quackwatch's sites is approximately $7,000 per year. It is funded mainly by small individual donations, commissions from sales on other sites to which they refer, profits from the sale of publications, and self-funding by Barrett. The stated income is also derived from the usage of [[sponsored link]]s.<ref name="mission"/>
