==Career== During the [[Korean War]], Askew served in the [[United States Air Force|U.S. Air Force]] from 1951 to 1953, as a [[military intelligence]] officer. He oversaw the program for taking and analyzing airplane reconnaissance photographs of [[Western Europe]].
