==Dates and age range definitions== The Pew Research Center uses 1928 to 1945 as birth years for this cohort. According to this definition, people of the Silent Generation are 1945-12-31 to 1928-01-01 years old in YEAR. The Intergenerational Centre of the Resolution Foundation has used 1926 to 1945, while the Encyclopedia of Strategic Leadership and Management uses the range 1925 to 1945. This generation had reached maturity as early as 1946 and as late as 1963, but the majority of Silents had come of age in the 1950s, in the wake of the Civil rights movement, which was followed by older boomers in the 1960s.<ref name=bowmanmulvenon>{{cite book |first1=Sandra G. |last1=Bowman |first2=Sean W. |last2=Mulvenon |chapter=Effective Government of Generational Dynamics in the Workplace |editor-first=Victor C.
