==IPv6 networks== The basic methodology of DHCP was developed for networks based on [[Internet Protocol version 4]] (IPv4). Since the development and deployment of [[IPv6]] networks, DHCP has also been used for assigning parameters in such networks, despite the inherent features of IPv6 for [[stateless address autoconfiguration]].
