Fishing dredges are used to collect various species of [[clam]]s, [[scallop]]s, [[oyster]]s or [[mussel]]s from the seabed. Some dredges are also designed to catch crabs, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and conch. These dredges have the form of a scoop made of chain mesh, and are towed by a [[fishing boat]].
