The Hindi service helped build Radio Ceylon's fanbase among Hindi speakers in the Indian sub-continent. Gopal Sharma, [[Sunil Dutt]], [[Ameen Sayani]], and [[Hamid Sayani]] were some of the Indian announcers of the station.
