==== 1857β1858 Utah War ==== {{Main|Utah War}} As the church settled in what became the Utah Territory, it eventually was subjected to the power and opinion of the United States. Friction first began to show in the [[Presidency of James Buchanan|James Buchanan administration]] and federal troops arrived (see [[Utah War]]).
