=====2012 Mayor Jeffrey Lim Kidnapping===== On April 2, 2012, Mayor Jeffrey Lim of [[Salug, Zamboanga del Norte]] was kidnapped by ten armed men disguised as policemen. Lim was reportedly handed over to Abu Sayyaf. On November 6, he was freed near [[Zamboanga City]] after payment of P1.3M ($US25,000) ransom.
